Lady Cylones drop three in Greene County

  Elizabethton found the going tough in the prestigious Greene County Bank Classic. On day one, the Cyclones were defeated by Jefferson County 59-43 in the tournaments opening game. Ashley Huff, Chattanooga signee led the way with 23 points while Lindsey Lyke added 16 including four treys.
  Cameron Crapps topped 'Betsy with 15 while Rikki Baughman and Michaela Pietrowski added eight each.
  Jeff County led 29-25 at the half but a 13-8 advantage gave the Patriots a nine point cushion to start the fourth. Jeff County shot 51 percent for the game on (24-47) while Elizabethton managed only (11-24) for 39.5 percent.
  South Greene, 50-29
  The days of legendary head coach Larry Ricker may be gone but the South Greene Rebels proved they are still among the elite in girlís basketball. The Waddell twins Brooke and Brittany combined for 33 points leading the Rebels to a big win over Elizabethton in losers bracket play.
  Brooke had 20 while Brittany accounted for 13 to lead the Rebel attack. The Cyclones got 11 points and nine rebounds from Rikki Baughman while Victoria Hopson added eight points.
  The Cyclones fell behind 29-10 at intermission after committing 15 first half turnovers. A 10-0 run late in the game sealed the victory for the Rebels.
  Sevier County, 39-36
  The third day was one the Cyclones would just as soon forget. Julie Fox banked in a desperation 3-pointer at the buzzer giving the Bearettes a three-point win over Elizabethton. The game was like a bakery with 43 turnovers being made with the Cyclones accounting for 24.
  Rikki Baughman and Cameron Crapps led the Cyclone offense with 10 each. Jacquelyn Kremer and Nicole Franklin had 13 and 12 respectively for Sevier County.
