Tourney time in East Tennessee

  This year's holiday tournament action begins this week with four high school tournaments and one seventh grade middle school tournament all beginning on Monday.
  The Arby's Classic in Bristol will have seven regional teams going up against some of the best high school programs, including teams from the Bahamas and Germany.
  Elizabethton, Gate City, Dobyns Bennett, Science Hill, Tennessee High, Sullivan East and Twin Springs will battle teams from South Lakes, Va.; Atlanta Mys, Ga.; West Hill from Canada; Northside, Tn.; Tabernacle, Bahamas; Timpview, Ut.; Simon Gratz, Pa.; Meridian, Ms.; A.H. Parker, Al. and Upspring from Germany.
  Elizabethton will have the opening tipoff against Tabernacle at 1 p.m.
  Volunteer High School's Holiday Tournament begins with an 10:00 a.m. wake-up call between the girls of Gate City and Rutledge. Rhea County's boys take on Clinch at 11:30 a.m. before the Lady Rangers take on Sullivan South at 1 p.m. Unaka's boys will then go up against Sullivan South at 2:30 p.m.
  For the remainder of the girls bracket Monday, Sullivan North battles Sullivan East and Morristown East will face Volunteer. Sullivan North's boys will face Morristown East and Rye Cove will tipoff against Volunteer for the night cap.
  The Fiftenth Annual Golden Corral Prep Classic at Avery County High School also begin Monday with the girls bracket. Haysi, Va. will battle Statesville Christian out of North Carolina at 4:30. The Lady Bulldogs of Hampton will face off against J. L. Mann out of South Carolina at 6 p.m.
  The Lady Longhorns of Johnson County will play Avery County at 7:30 p.m. and the Lady Highlanders of Cloudland will batte Union Pines, N.C. for the night cap at 9 p.m.
  The Sixteenth Annual Greene County Bank Ladies Classic begins in Hal Henard Gym at 10 a.m. with the Lady Cyclones of Elizabethton taking on Jefferson County. North Greene battles Wilson Central at 11:30 a.m. Sevier County will tipoff against Powell at 1 p.m. Mt Juliet and Lake Mary, Fla. take the court at 2:30 p.m.
  West Greene and Walker Valley take on each other at 4 p.m. Greeneville battles Ft. Payne, Ala. at 5:30 p.m. Chuckey-Doak hits the floor with Marville Heritage at 7 p.m. and South Greene hits the hardwood against Cabrini, La. for the night cap at 8:30.
  The Fourth Annual Double Play Holiday Classic also starts on Monday for local seventh grade teams at Happy Valley High School.
  Unaka, Cloudland, Range, Little Milligan, T.A. Dugger, Hampton, Hunter and Indiand Trail will all be competing beginning at 12:15 p.m.
