Mountaineers shake Buffs in second half

BOONE, N.C. -- For one half, it was tough to tell that Milligan was supposed to lose.
Trailing 47-44 at the half, the Buffaloes (8-4) went on to lose to NCAA Division 1 and Southern Conference member Appalachian State (N.C.) University (5-3) by a score of 98-67 Saturday night.
Milligan's freshman guard Anthony Wilhelm led all scorers with 19 points in the contest as he was followed closely by teammate senior forward Craig Emmert (Cass City, Mich.) with 18 points, while Noah Brown led App State with 17.
It was a strong second-half performance for Appalachian State as the Mountaineers outscored Milligan 51-23 in the second half. Milligan was trailing at halftime by a 47-44 score.
Next for Milligan is the Disney's NAIA Basketball Challenge to be played at the Disney Wide World of Sports complex in Orlando, Fla., on Dec. 21-22.
