Celtics outlast Bulls in Boys/Girls Club play

   In Boys/Girls Club basketball action this past week, the Celtics outlasted the Bulls for a 34-26 victory in a season-opening game.
   The game looked like it would be a low scoring affair at the end of the first quarter, but the Celtics turned it up a notch in the second, reeling off 12 points to take the lead at the half. The C's were led at the break by Cory Walker and Josh Saults with four points each.
   As the second half started the Celtics kept up the scoring pace as Walker and Saults kept up their assault. The Bulls kept the game close as Ryan Pinkerman and Maison Barnett scored baskets inside the paint.
   The Celtics led going into the fourth quarter, with the Bulls eating at their heels. Andy Bowers started the scoring on a couple of steals that led to breakaway lay-ups.
   The Celtics kept their lead as the Bulls were pressing full court in attempts to steal the ball to keep the game close. As the seconds ticked away the Celtics dribbled out the last few seconds, securing the win.
   The winners were led in scoring by Bowers, Walker and Saults with eight points each. Jacob Jones followed with six points and did a great job running the floor for the Celtics.
   Willie "The Enforcer" Snyder came off the bench to give the Celtics a spark with his hustle and defense to score four points. Tyler Hooks and Wesley Garland played for the Celtics, giving quality minutes for the Celtics. The Bulls were led by Pinkerman, Barnett and Ashton Stevens.
