The Trailblazers dominated the boards in the game, outrebounding the Bulldogs 39-19. Daniel Boone, which got 10 points apiece from Ryan Doyle, Aaron Cox and Hunter Compton, took control early, outscored Hampton 16-7 in the first quarter. The 'Blazers led 31-17 at the half. Adam Miller was tops for the 'Dogs, scoring 12. Zack Trivette chipped in with eight. Johnson County 59 John Battle 44 In the opening round of a tournament hosted by John Battle, the Longhorns got 16 points from Jon Stout and broke up a close game in the second half. Johnson County, which led 21-19 at intermission, received a 14-point showing from Judd Shoun. Michael Lipford added 11. University High 51 Tri-Cities Christian 43 Matt Conley totaled 16 points for the Jr. Bucs, who got 14 from Ryan Collins and 10 from Mike Tyson.
