Cloudland prove victorious on hardwood

B.J. Miller pumped in 15 points, including a trio
of shots behind the three-point line, and Vince Redd equaled
that total with 15 points of his own to lead Elizabethton to
a 52-39 win over Sycamore on Friday night.
The game stayed close throughout most of the contest
with the Cyclones holding a 27-23 halftime advantage. Their
defense clamped down in the final two quarters allowing just
16 points, the second half.
Jordan Lambert also reached double digits for Elizabethton
with 10 points, while Walter Brown with eight and Lester Bailey
with four rounded out the scoring.
Logan Pierce headed the Sycamore attack with 18
points as the War Eagles fell to 8-3 on the season.
The Cyclones remain perfect on the year with a
7-0 record before heading into the Arby's Classic next Thursday
after the Christmas break.

Cloudland scored their first victory of the season
on Saturday with a 65-62 win over Christian Academy of Knoxville.
Robbie Tolley led the Highlanders (1-6) with a
game-high 20 points. Josh Johnson pumped in five treys with
a total of 17 points and Cole Gouge added 10 for other double-digit
efforts.
Craig Cooke chipped in nine, Mark Byrd seven and
Aaron Stocton two to round out the scoring for the Highlanders,
who led 29-25 at the half.

Cloudland's girls continued an early season hot
streak with a 75-26 rout over Christian Academy of Knoxville.
Tara Hanson led the Lady Lander assault with a
game-high 19 points. Stachia Johnson had nine points, while
Holly Blair and Jessica Ledford each scored eight for Cloudland.
The Lady Highlanders put the game out of reach
early, running out to a 22-2 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Amy Storie had seven points, as Nikki Webb and Heather Banner
each scored six in helping Cloudland improve to 8-1 on the season.
