Holly signs Aldridge to play softball
for Buffs
from staff reports
Megan Aldridge, a senior standout from Science
Hill High School, has signed a letter-of-intent to play softball
next season for Milligan College.
Head Coach Wes Holly makes the announcement.
Aldridge, who is an all-conference athlete in
three different sports, has chosen softball over both soccer
and basketball.
"This was one of my toughest decisions whether
to focus on softball or play the others," she said. "I enjoy
playing all three, but I think I made the right choice will
softball."
"We are very pleased and excited that Megan chooses
Milligan. She will get a quality education and a great opportunity
to play college athletics," states Holly.
"I look for Megan to make an immediate impact
next season. I will be losing seven seniors this year, so
she will have to play right away."
Aldridge has played a couple of positions in
high school, but she will probably play third base at the
collegiate level.
Aldridge made the all-conference, all-district
and the All-Upper East Tennessee last season as a junior in
softball. She is also coming off, an All-Conference and All-District
season as a soccer player, where she the Lady Hilltoppers
into playoffs.
Megan is the daughter of Jeff and Tembra Aldridge
of Johnson City. Both Jeff and Tembra is alumnus of Milligan
College. Megan's sister Nyela is currently a sophomore at
Milligan.
