EHS grapplers place sixth at D-B
from staff reports
The Elizabethton High School wrestling team put
together a sixth-place showing in the Indian Classic last
weekend at Dobyns-Bennett.
There were 15 teams in the event, so it was a
very respectable showing for the Cyclones.
Andy Ross had the best showing for EHS, as he
placed second in the 130-pound weight class.
David Sayers and Patrick Jenkins each had strong
finishes for EHS. They placed third at 140 and 145 pounds,
respectively.
Other top EHS finishers included John Ross (fifth
at 125), Brian Bradshaw (seventh at 171), Martin Nevarez (seventh
at 112) and Jarrett Taylor (eighth at 215).
NOTE: Tonight's wrestling match
at EHS has been canceled. The Cyclones will be hosting the
Border Wars Tournament Saturday.
