Paramount will host AcuTab all-star Jam

On January 12, 2002, the Paramount Center will host the AcuTab all-star Jam. The jam will feature musicians who have performed on the "Knee Deep in Bluegrass" project on Rebel Records. These Bluegrass artists have made tablature recordings and videos of themselves performing their own works on AcuTab Publications. This is designed to teach aspiring musicians the methods by which their favorite artist performs their most requested songs.
This album was the idea of AcuTab's founder John Lawless and was in response to fan's demands of putting these artists on one recording. Fan appreciation was shown in 2001 when the voting membership of the International Bluegrass Music Association chose the "Knee Deep in Bluegrass" recording as the instrumental album of the year. This album was produced by Tim Stafford of the group Blue Highway.
This year many of the artists who performed on the album will be featured at the jam. Among those are Tim Stafford, Joe Mullins, Ron Stewart, Kenny Smith, Ronnie Bowman, Terry Baucom, Alan Bibey, Herschel Sizemore, Scott Vestal and Allan O'Bryant. Special guests joining them are Amanda Smith, Randy Kohrs, Wayne Taylor, Paul Williams and many more.
Also, AcuTab has been hard at work producing transcription books to accompany the "Knee Deep in Bluegrass" CD. The book is now complete and books are being finished for guitar and mandolin.
Tickets are available at the Paramount Center, All Tri-Cities Morrell Music Stores and Bristol Mall customer service desk. For credit card orders, call the Paramount Center at (423) 274-8920 and for more information, check out the Web site www.acutabsessions.com.
