Bucs stumble at invitational

The Belmont Lady Bruins forced 28 turnovers and
had 18 steals in a 94-71 over ETSU Saturday afternoon in the
opening round of the Active Ankle Bearcat Invitational in Cincinnati,
Ohio.
Freshman Erica Davenport paced undefeated Belmont
(8-0) with 11 points in the first half. Other players with double-digit
efforts were Hollie Davis with 18, Candice Mitchell and Brandi
Miller who each had 11.
The Lady Bucs (4-4) also got a great effort from
a freshman as Ashley Reed had 18 points. Sophomore forward Lauren
Trantham and freshman guard Ann Marie Gardner played well for
the Lady Bucs with each scoring 10 points.
East Tennessee State returns to action today at
2:00 p.m. in the consolation game of the Bearcat Invitational.
