TAD girls drop S.H.

   The T.A. Dugger girls basketball teams didn't use brooms Monday night, but they still managed to sweep.
   The Lady Cyclones defeated Indian Trail 50-28 in the seventh grade contest, while the eighth-grade team defeated Science Hill 33-30.
   In the seventh grade game, Doug Fritz's Lady Cyclones were up 16-15 at the end of the first quarter, but used an 18-0 second quarter to propel them to victory.
   Victoria Hopson led the Lady Cyclones with 19. Courtney Towle netted 10 for T.A. Dugger.
   Shapreesha Gallahar topped Indian Trail with 11.
   Michaela Pietrowski led the Lady Cyclones in rebounding with eight, while Hopson had six rebounds and five steals.
   The eighth grade game was a close encounter that went down to the wire. The Lady Cyclones were down 22-20 going into the fourth, but had a strong final frame to pull out the victory.
   Takisha Avery led the Cyclones with 10. Cameron Crapps added nine for T.A. Dugger.
   Danielle Davis tallied eight for Science Hill.
   The seventh grade team is now 4-0 in the conference and 5-0 overall, while the eighth grade team is 4-1 overall and 3-1 in conference play.
