Lady Buffs come away with split in SPSU Classic


  MARIETTA, Ga. -- The Milligan College Lady Buffs basketball team fell to Shorter (Ga.) College by a score of 70-43 on Saturday afternoon in the second day of the Southern Polytechnic State University Classic.
  With the results, Milligan falls to 1-2 on the season while Shorter improves to 4-0.
  The leading scorer for the Lady Buffs was junior guard Kari Stout with 24 points.
  Next for the Lady Buffs is their first Appalachian Athletic Conference game as they travel to face Alice Lloyd College in Pippa Passes, Ky., on Tuesday Nov. 16 at 5:30 p.m.

  MARRIETA, Ga. -- The Lady Buffs had their way with Southern Polytechnic (Ga.) State University in action from the Southern Polytechnic State University Classic.
  Freshman Ashley Stidhman came off the bench to lead the Lady Buffs in scoring with 14 points while junior Leah Seevers followed close behind with 13 points.
  Milligan had a pair of guards with double-digit point figures, with sophomore Kacie Letterman coring 12 and senior Ginny White contributing. Senior forward Lacy York scored nine points to match her nine-rebound performance.
  For SPSU (2-1), Rachel Eley scored a game high with 24 points in the loss.
  "We did a good job on their man-to-man defense and we adjusted to their zone defense to hit big baskets," said Milligan head coach Rich Aubrey. "It was a balanced attack as it was a good night for us moving the ball around to set up scoring opportunities.
  "Kari Stout played well with good defense with her early foul trouble. She only scored six points but it was on two big three-point baskets for us."
