Honors pour in for Buffalo soccer players

   Soccer season has ended for the Buffaloes as they finished fourth in the AAC and with a 12-8 record, but the awards just keep coming.
   At the AAC Conference banquet was held in Bristol on Nov. 6, and the Milligan men's soccer team walked out with more than half a dozen awards that were given out to players for their excellence during the season.
   Captain's Stephen Townley and Brian Okumu as well as Ali Mohamed were rewarded with first-team all conference honors. Freshmen David Lilly was awarded second-team all conference for the season, while Justin Fuller, who was up for the nomination of Freshmen of the Year, and was honored with third-team all conference.
   Sophomore Justin Ruetz and Senior Eric Star were both given the award for the conference academic team as they both produced higher than a 3.2 GPA. Star is waiting to find out if he will be given the Academic All-American award, which will likely happen. It is required that you have a minimum GPA of 3.5.
   On Thursday it was announced that Mohamed and Okumu both have been honored with the award on to the All-Region 12 team. Only 14 players receive this honor, and they are now eligible for All-American honors.
   Head coach Marty Shirley stated: "I'm very happy for these boys. They worked hard all season and they deserve it."
