Brittany Smith tossed in eight points to lead
a balanced T.A. Dugger attack on Tuesday as the Lady Junior
Cyclones overwhelmed Happy Valley 33-9 in a middle school
basketball game atop Warrior Hill.
Happy Valley was still in the game at the half,
trailing 15-7, but the 'Betsy girls turned up the defensive
pressure and outscored the Lady Junior Warriors 18-2 over
the final two quarters.
Marti Bush and Casey Crockett added six points
apiece for the Lady Cyclones, who improved to 1-0 on the season.
The seventh-grade contest also tilted heavily
in favor of T.A. Dugger, which opened up a 27-6 halftime lead
and never looked back in a 46-8 victory.
Hannah Fritz and Jasmine Treadway were tops for
the Lady Cyclones, with each player accounting for nine points.
Janey Robinson totaled eight points, followed by Leslie Guinn
with six.
T.A. Dugger's next game will be on the road vs.
Vance this Thursday, and Happy Valley returns to action on
Friday, hosting Science Hill.
