Patriots repel EHS freshman EHS freshmen

   Sullivan East found its mark early and often en route to a 75-36 rout of Elizabethton in a high school freshman game on Wednesday at Treadway Gym.
   Twelve men scored for East, with Donavan Dye leading the way with 17.
   The Patriots pulled out to a 20-point lead midway through the second period, but 'Betsy worked hard on defense and pulled back within 11 on a three-point basket by Keith Crawford.
   The Patriots went on to hold a 35-18 halftime lead.
   After the break the Patriots were rested up and bombed the nets for 22 in the third. Jonathan Ward scored eight for East as they held the Cyclones to only eight points in the quarter.
   Both teams' players saw plenty of action, Elizabethton had nine players that scored, led by Crawford with 10.
   The Cyclones shot 26 times from the foul line and hit only 10 of them. The Patriots connected on 5 of 8 tries from the line.
   The Patriots outscored 'Betsy in the fourth 18-10. Along with Dye's 17, Dustin Craig scored nine for East.
   Steven Bowers added six for Elizabethton.
