You would had to have a crowbar to put any more people in the Hunter Gym last night. Aaron Greer scored the first two points of the game and it was the only lead for the Rangers as the Tigers handed Unaka their first loss of season 52-32.
Josh Lowe threw in 6 first quarter points to give the Tigers a 12-5 first quarter lead. Charles Peters controlled the boards grabbing 23 rebounds to go along with his 23 points and six assists.
The Rangers were held to just one point in the second quarter as Kyle Estep hit the lone foul shot. The Tigers built the lead to 23-6 by the midway point.
Coach Mike Dorsey stated " Everybody stepped up big. Paul and Josh played excellent and when the starters got in foul trouble the bench came in and played well."
In the third period the teams played even both scoring 11 points. Tee Blevins hit 7 foul shots in the quarter for Unaka.
In the fourth, Peters took over scoring 10 points early and building the Tiger lead to 46-21 with just over four minutes left to play.
Along with Peters 23 points, Lowe scored 13 with Waters and Hartman both scoring six. Blevins was high for Unaka with nine, Kyle Estep followed with eight.
In the J.V. game the Rangers destroyed the smaller Tiger team 72-23. Brandon Roper pitched in 26 points and Andrew Church finished with 20. Cornett scored eight for Hunter with Jeffrey Peters scoring six.
