Junior Rangers chain Bulldogs

The Unaka Rangers jumped out on the Hampton Bulldogs
early and never looked back on Thursday, scoring 19 points
in the first quarter and 34 by the half.
Tee Blevins and Aaron Greer scored six points
each in the opening period and Blevins added nine more in
the second quarter for the Rangers.
Unaka led 19-10 at the first stop as Lucas Roark
scored four points for Hampton in the quarter.
Turnovers plagued the 'Dogs throughout the game.
Outscoring the 'Dogs in the second 15-11, the Rangers built
the lead to 34-21.
Hampton's scoring was spread out among eight
players. The 'Dogs did outscore Unaka in the third 8-6 but
gave the points back in the fourth.
Blevins ended the game with 21 and Greer followed
with 14. Jordan Honeycutt led Hampton with 8, while Roark
and John Potter added six each.
Unaka also won the b-game 30-25. They had to
come from behind as Hampton led 13-5 in the first period,
with seven points coming from Adam Townsend.
The 'Dogs led 16-9 at the half, then the Rangers
let loose Brandon Roper in the third period as he scored eight
points, then added six in the final quarter to give the Rangers
the win.
Roper ended up with 17 and Kyle Wilson tallied
eight. Townsend scored nine for Hampton
