Lady Bucs close on positive note

   East Tennessee State's women's volleyball team improved to 20-5 on the season and 15-5 in the Southern Conference with a 3-1 (30-26, 27-30, 32-30, 30-28) win over UNC Greensboro (2-18, 2-29) on Saturday afternoon.
   The Lady Bucs were paced by Karen Freeburg with 17 kills and 16 digs. Amber Ciskowski with 15 kills and 12 digs and Lisa Allen with 14 kills and 14 digs were the other ETSU leaders.
   Other significant contributions came from Katie Steidle with 10 kills and 12 digs and Jessica Miller, who posted 57 assists.
   Using a season-high 20 blocks, the Davidson volleyball team upset East Tennessee State in five games (30-25, 22-30, 33-31, 24-30 and 15-11) Friday night at Belk Arena.
   With the score knotted at 6 apiece in the decisive fifth game, Davidson came up with three straight blocks, two of which were solo blocks by sophomore Latisha Chapman.
   The loss overshadowed a triple-double by Carey Cavanaugh. She had 14 kills, 45 assists and 17 digs.
