EMGA evens series with Stoney Point

On Sept. 27-28, the Elizabethton Men's Golf Association hosted the 2nd annual Elizabethton vs. Stoney Point Challenge Cup Matches at the Elizabethton Golf Course.
The Stoney Point Golf and Country Club of Greenwood, S.C. team won the first tournament last year. The EMGA team won this year on its home course.
Stoney Point team members are Paul White, Roger Laughlin, Jonsie Alexander, Ken Orcutt, Tim Shirley, Harold Lovette, Will Humphries and Hugh Tilson. EMGA members are Ron Crumley, David Daniels, Randy Matney, James Norris, Coy Taylor, Charlie Johnson, Jeff Issacs, W.C. Shelton, Eddie Cox, Billy Puckett, Hugh Parker, Herb Smith, Jim Vandyke, Adam Shanks and Jim Moody.
Stoney Point's Orcutt had a hole in one during Saturday's play. He aced No. 17, which covers 185 yards, using a 5 iron. Playing partners were Alexander, Matney and Norris.
The EMGA's goal is promoting the Elizabethton Golf Course. Any male golfer is invited to join the EMGA. Applications are available in the Elizabethton Golf Pro Shop.
