The temperature was frigid on Thursday night at Brown-Childress Stadium, but the Dobyns-Bennett Indians freshman squad had the heat turned up on all cylinders.
Jumping out to a 28-6 advantage, the Indians were able to win going away by turning back the homestanding Elizabethton Cyclones 35-18.
The Cyclones found the Indians running game a hard thing to stop on the evening as D-B was able to run wild against Coach Ryan Witten's team.
If there was a bright spot for the Cyclones, it had to be the play of quarterback Preston Smith and his receivers, including Josh Guinn and Drew Hyder.
Guinn hauled in two touchdown passes from Smith while Hyder snagged one to pace the offensive effort for Elizabethton.
Defensively, the Cyclones battled with a lot of heart and pride, but the strength of the Indian line was dominating, with D-B running a wild option where the quarterback rolled out and pitched to the wide receiver.
