Lady Cyclones retaliate with 4-1 win over Doak

from staff reports

   AFTON-- Sweet revenge.
The Elizabethton Lady Cyclone soccer team made up for a loss to Chuckey-Doak a week ago by defeating the Lady Black Knights 4-1 Monday.
"We avenged a loss from a week ago," Elizabethton head coach Bill McClay said. "We kind of paid them back for what they did to us."
The game was 1-0 at halftime, compliments of a Samantha McClay penalty kick. But in the second half, it was all Cyclones as McClay, Sarah Smith and Katie Presnell all scored for Elizabethton.
"This was one of our best games," Coach McClay said. "Our intensity and concentration was superb."
Coach McClay was very pleased with the good defense played by Ashley Green, and the performance of goalie Mary Gleason.
The Cyclones will be in action at home tonight, taking on Morristown East.
