Lady Buffs score tourney win over Bethel College

PULASKI -- The Milligan volleyball team won its first-round game over Bethel College on Friday night in the Martin Methodist tournament.
Match scores were 30-24, 30-25 and 30-26.
Freshman Tara Earhart worked aggressively on offense and defense, ending the night with four aces and one block. Junior Lindsey Wetherholt joined in the fight with one block and six kills against the Lady Pilots.
Joy Dobbs also had four aces, while Morgan Hyatt added 10 kills and 10 digs, and Beth Snapp contributed five digs.
Milligan coach Kim Hyatt was pleased with her team's effort, saying: "We really played better team ball tonight. We united well and were able to keep the enthusiasm going on offense and defense."
Senior Myra O'Dell was able to supply to the needs of her teammates by completing 17 assists, while freshman Dianne Sooter also added in nine of her own.
Coach Hyatt concluded: "The girls were able to do something with the ball whenever they got it. We served well on offense and were able to finish on defense."
