Jr. 'Landers cruise past West View

   The Cloudland Junior Highlanders took another mark on their win column this past Thursday night at Orr Field with a 22-0 victory over the West View Pioneers.
   The Jr. 'Landers compiled 435 yards with 42 carries on the ground. Rodney Hill led Cloudland with 105 yards on six carries with an 80-yard touchdown run.
   Jared Kodak and Josh Harrison both had stellar games for the boys from Roan Mountain. Kodak had 150 all-purpose yards for Cloudland, while Harrison was sharp with 75 yards and two scores on 12 carries for the Jr. Highlanders.
   The contest was their second defensive shutout of the season, with Jon Simmons leading the team with his eight tackles. Cloudland had strong games from defensive linemen Cody Turbyfill, Josh Thomas and Billy Markland.
   Coach Robbie Turbyfill was pleased with the performance of his offensive line crew of Casey Turbyfill, Christian Montgomery, Justin Banner, Cody Hughes and Junior Clawson.
   The game marked the return to play of Cloudland star Michael Lunsford, after an injury he suffered before the season. Lunsford will be a key player throughout the remainder of the season for the Junior Highlanders.
   Cloudland continues conference play with a big matchup this Thursday night at Johnson County against the Jr. 'Horns.
