MOUNTAIN CITY -- Birchfield scored the only touchdown
of the game as the Jr. Warriors picked up a huge Little Watauga
Conference victory on Tuesday afternoon.
The game was a defensive struggle all the way,
with Happy Valley picking up a safety from Brandon Whitehead
and Brandon Jaynes.
Borquez had a two-point conversion to help the
Jr. Warriors take a big step toward the regular-season championship.
"That was a big win for us," said Happy Valley
head coach Alex Payne. "We've got Hampton and Unaka next week.
If we can get by them, we'll have a pretty decent shot at
it."
Happy Valley entertains Unaka next Tuesday, then
visits Hampton on Thursday, Sept. 26.
