Lineups squared away for Tri-Cities
Matches
from staff reports
The lineups have been set for the Second Annual
Tri-Cities Cup Matches for Thursday and Friday at Cattails
at Meadowview in Kingsport.
The amateur team, captained by Mark Meredith,
has a strong lineup and appears ready to challenge the pros
who won last year's matches 14-10.
Hunter Howe, the Ridgefields Invitational winner,
was unable to play last year due to illness, but is in this
year's lineup along with other newcomers Mark Dugger of Elizabethton
and Greeneville's Spencer Smith.
The pros, captained by Darren Howard of The Ridges,
will be without Graysburg's Steve Munson, who is unable to
play this week.
A bonus for the Pro team is that Sam Adams, head
pro at Roan Valley and a former winner on the PGA Tour, will
play on this year's team.
Open Division returnees include Euggie Jones,
Mark Houser and Chris Stacy. Heading the list of Senior Division
entries are Fred Minor, Jerry Wilson and Kyle Minor.
The matches will include a nine-hole best-ball
match on Thursday afternoon, beginning at 4 p.m. A players'
party will follow with two more nine-hole matches played Friday
morning, beginning at 8:38 a.m. The first will be alternate
shot and the second singles.
