Jr. Cyclones oust Toppers

from staff reports

From the looks of Monday's junior varsity outing, the future is bright in Elizabethton.
The Cyclones toppled a bigger Science Hill squad 26-0 at Rider Field.
Sophomore quarterback Preston Smith accounted for three touchdowns, two in the air to Jordan Peters. Smith kicked off Elizabethton's scoring with a one-yard score in the first quarter.
Peters made touchdown grabs from 20 and 40 yards out in the second quarter with Brent Shaver scoring with a conversion on the ground to make it 20-0 at the half.
Shaver later scored in the third on a five-yard dash.
Defensively, Everett Thomas recovered a fumble and Austin Taylor came through with two big picks to lead 'Betsy's defense.
