Jr. Rangers too much for C-Doak

from staff reports

Dustin Carden made his presence felt for the Jr. Rangers on Thursday night, having a hand in three touchdowns as Unaka trounced Chuckey-Doak Middle 32-8 at Lynn Goddard Field.
Carden's biggest highlight was intercepting a pass and returning it 80 yards for a score as time expired in the opening half. He also ran for a TD, and hit Jeff Peters on a 50-yard scoring toss.
Peters, who tallied a rushing TD of his own, produced his second straight 100-yard rushing performance, gaining 168, and scored a pair of two-point conversions.
Two-point conversions also came from Britt Yelton and Carden.
Linebacker Jesse Cowden and safety Chris Pierce paced the Jr. Rangers in tackles.
Unaka stands at 2-0 on the season. The Jr. Rangers' next game, on Sept. 3 at Cloudland, has been moved to 1 p.m.
