Things were a little different for the area prep golfers in their weekly meet at Elizabethton Golf Course.
Instead of the tough front nine, four squads played the course's back nine.
Lloyd Griffin's Sullivan North squad joined the weekly staples in Elizabethton, Happy Valley and Unaka, and came out with a better-than-average finish according to the coach with a total of 194 with its top four golfers.
It wasn't good enough to top Elizabethton and Happy Valley, who repeated their 1-2 performances once again. Unaka finished fourth due to a withdrawl.
For the Cyclones, Eric Carter, in typical fashion, had the team's top score with a one-over-par 37, and was joined by teammate Caleb Tull, who had one of his better outings with a 37 of his own.
Carter birdied the 13th and 18th holes, while Tull birdied the tough 17th.
Jared Thomas' five-over-par 41(birdie on 10th hole) and Jacob Thomas' round of 50 gave Elizabethton the top team score of the match with a total of 165. Jonathan Crowley added a 53 for the Cyclones.
Happy Valley had eight golfers participate yesterday, with two not counting towards the official scores.
B.J. Townsend and Ricky Morgan led the Rik Anderson-coached squad with a four-over par 40 and 41 respectively.
Josh Lowe shot a ten-over-par 46 and Ryan May provided a 47 to bring Happy Valley's total to 174. Teammates Dustin Green and Matt Howell provided a 50 and 52, respectively, to wound out the six allotted players for the team.
Two other Warriors, Justin Davis and Derek Gouge, each shot a 54. Happy Valley was missing one of their top golfer's in Nate Howell during Tuesday's match.
For the Unaka Rangers, Nick Colbaugh and Derek Cline came through with the team's top scores. Colbaugh shot a 53, while the basketball standout Cline came through with a 54,
Aaron Greer shot an improved 65 for the Rangers, who fell to last place when Josh Lowe withdrew from Tuesday's action.
