Lady Buffs ink Unicoi softball product Byrd

  Stephanie Byrd from Unicoi High School has signed a letter-of-intent to enroll at Milligan College and play softball for the Lady Buffs.
  "We are happy to add Stephanie to our program," said head coach Wes Holly. "She will be a great asset to our student body and our athletic program. We look for great things from Stephanie in the next four years."
  Byrd, an all-conference, all-district and two-time All Northeast Tennessee selection, boasted a .327 batting average, 42 RBIs and recorded 10 or more home runs during her senior campaign.
  "Stephanie has a tremendous work ethic, a super attitude and is a team leader," said Unicoi head softball coach Doyle Phipps. "She is a very good student as well."
  "I'm glad to have chosen Milligan," said Byrd. "There is nowhere else that could offer more to me."
  Byrd is the daughter of Dennis and Pam Byrd of Erwin, Tenn. She plans to major in business administration at Milligan
