Ramblers in SEAA series finals

  The Carter County Ramblers continue to succeed in the SEAA World Series. On Friday morning, they faced the Mountain Fury out of Asheville, N.C. and came out on top, 3-1, thanks to pitcher Jamie Andrews who allowed only one hit and struck out four in the complete game.
  The Rambler defense held their ground as well coming out with an error free game. Natalie Sheffey led in hitting going 2-for-2, two RBIs and one stolen base. Kristen Powell went 2-for-3, earned one run and stole one base. Jessee Wheelock earned a run and stole a base. Lacey Huskins was good for a single and a RBI. Kat McInturff went 2-for-2.
  On Friday evening, they defeated the Crossville Cyclones in a heated 4-2 decision that went an extra inning. The team gave up two unearned runs in the second. Lacey Huskins took over with a dominate pitching performance. She gave up one hit and struck out 10 batters in the game.
  Hannah Blevins had two runs including the winning run in the fifth. Huskins went 2-for-3, including a double, two RBIs, a run and one stolen base. Taylor Byars went 2-for-3 with a double and a run. Sheffey went 2-for-3 including and RBI, and Andrews went 2-for-3 for an RBI and had one stolen base.
  In yesterday's semi-final match, the Ramblers jumped out ahead of the Middle Valley Spirit with five runs in the top of the first, led by singles from Powell, Byars and Andrews which drove in a run and then a two run double by Sheffey. Capping off the inning was a two run homer by McInturff. The team would hold out for a 5-3 heated battle.
  Jamie Andrews, who picked up the win, gave up two runs on two hits, two walks, one strikeout and worked through a blister on her pitching hand.
  Huskins picked up the save by throwing the last two and two-third innings. She had one unearned run on one hit, one hit batter and two strikeouts.
  Stellar defensive plays were turned in by shortstop Powell and third baseman Byars, Huskins and catcher McInturff who could a would-be-base stealer out at third in the last inning.
  They will play in the winners bracket final today.
