Ramblers No. 1 seed in SEAA World Series from staff reportsThe Carter County Ramblers, the 10-under fastpitch girls softball team, won thier first two games in the SEAA World Series in Pigeon Forge. Wednesday, the Ramblers shut-out the Middle Valley Spirit in a 5-0 decision. Jamie Andrews was the winning pitcher with two hits and four strikeouts. Kristen Powell lead the team defensively, turning out two double-plays, one unassisted. Natalie Sheffey lead the team in batting going 3-for-3 and one RBI. Kayla Sanders went 2-for-3 for 3 RBIs. Lacey Huskins went 2-for-3 as well, bringing in one runner. In Thursday's game, the Texas Outlaws lost 5-1. Huskins was the winning pitcher allowing one hit and striking out eight batters. Powell had two runs. Jessee Wheelock, Taylor Byers and Allison Turbyfield each had one run. Huskins went 2-for-2 and Sheffey had two RBIs. The Ramblers are the No. 1 seed going into today game. The Tournament concludes on Sunday. | |||||||
