Thunder prevails, braces for final
homestand

The Tennessee Thunder of the Southern Collegiate
Baseball League won Tuesday evening to improve their record
to 21-7. The victory came over the Asheville (N.C.) Redbirds
by the score of 18-5.
This weekend will be the final set of doubleheaders
for Tennessee at Milligan College. Friday evening, Lenoir
(N.C.) visits while Huntersville (N.C.) comes on Saturday.
Both doubleheaders begin at 5 PM.
The Thunder was well represented at the SCBL All-Star
Game Wednesday evening in Spartanburg, S.C. Dustin Price (Milligan
College) started at third base and went 2-for-2 with a double
and single.
Tyler Belcher (Old Dominion University) caught
the middle of the game, and he had a triple and RBI at the
plate. Andrew Belcher (King College) started at first base
and placed second in the SCBL Home-Run Derby.
Brian Lovett (Tusculum College) started in the
outfield and Aaron Porter played the second half of the game
at second base. Both Michael Bauer (East Tennessee State University)
and Danny McCreedy (King College) each pitched one perfect
inning on the mound.
The South Division defeated the North Division
5-4 in 10 innings.
