David's Trophies capped off a successful season by winning the Jr. Babe Ruth regular season championship while placing second in the season-ending tournament.
The plaque attack finished the regular season with a 16-2 record under the leadership of head coach Charlie Bradford and his assistant coaches, Eddie Mobley and Steve Birchfield.
Bradford molded this team into a good defensive unit, which time and time again withstood the opposition's best performances. Brandon Medina, Scott Burleson, Matthew Rasnick and Michael Carpenter were the 15-year-old players, and each played a big role in the successful season. All four were named to the 15-year-old all-star team.
Medina was a speedster in the outfield while Burleson, Carpenter, and Rasnick could play any position on the field. Each player hit for good averages throughout the season.
Aaron Bradford played almost every position in the infield while Cody Marley was outstanding on the mound and at the plate for the plaque attack. Blake Russell proved his worth at first base.
The plaque attack was blessed with four 13-year-old players who were selected to the all-star team. Chris "Bucket" Pierce, Brett Yelton, Sam Adams and Franky Birchfield were key contributors for the plaque attack.
Each player and coach would like to express their appreciation to Greg Pierce, owner of David's Trophies, for his support to the team and the Jr. Babe Ruth during the season. Time and time again, Greg went the extra mile for each player and the league.
Greg is to be commended for the support and work he does for all the youth throughout Carter County. He spends many hours seeing that kids are rewarded with trophies, and sponsors many teams throughout our county.
Congratulations to the plaque attack of David's Trophies, and to their owner, Pierce, for a job well done during the 2004 Jr. Babe Ruth baseball season.
