Dizzy Dean club prevails

   BENTON--Cody Marley pitched four innings of one-hit, shutout baseball on Monday, lifting the Elizabethton 14-and-under Dizzy Dean squad to a 9-3 win over Harrison in state tournament play.
   Marley earned the victory in a starting role. Daniel Simerly followed up with two innings of two-hit work on the mound, then Nick Papantoniou threw the final frame, allowing just one hit.
   Elizabethton had just four hits in the contest, getting a 1-for-1 effort from Justin Peters, a 1-for-2 from Chad Shelton, and a 1-for-3 from Wendell Loving.
   Jonathan Canady had a hit and scored two runs while Tyler Blevins collected three runs and two walks.
