Runner-up finish for Barracudas

from staff reports

Redeeming itself after going to the same meet last year with only four swimmers, the Elizabethton Barracudas placed second behind the host team Tuesday night.
Rogersville, with more than 80 swimmers on its roster, scored 505 points. The Betsy 'Cudas' team of 28 swimmers scored 295 points, and Kingsport, a team about the same size as Elizabethton, came in a close third with 243 points.
The high scorer for Elizabethton was Preston Davis, who dominated the boys 8-and-under division, winning the 25-meter freestyle, 25-meter backstroke and the 25-meter butterfly.
Elizabethton returns to its home pool at Elizabethton High School to finish the regular season the next two Tuesday nights.  Competition begins at 6:30 p.m. both nights.
