Fun Ford Weekend starts Friday at Bristol Dragway

   BRISTOL -- For Ford enthusiasts, Bristol Dragway makes the list as the place to be Aug. 1-3, as the 12th Annual Fun Ford Weekend, one of Thunder Valley's most popular events, returns for three days of exciting action.
   Racing will take place in Pro, Street Outlaw, Street Renegade, Street Bandit, Street Warrior, Drag Radial, Street Stang, Mod Motor Maddness, Focus Frenzy, Tough Truck, Fast Ford, Quick Ford, Street Ford and True Street classes.
   Winners in Pro will take home $7,500 apiece while the Mod Motor Maddness winner pockets $6,000.
   The Street Outlaw winner earns $3,000, and the rest of the division winners will claim $1,000 except in Tough Truck and Quick Ford, which will post a $500 cash prize. In Street Ford competition, trophies will be awarded.
   Entry fees are $200 for Pro, $150 for Street Outlaw and $75 for all other classes except Street Stang and Street Ford, where the fee is $50 each. A "Test and Tune" session will take place on Friday for $25 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
   In addition to the plentiful racing action, the event includes a large Manufacturer's Midway, as well as a swap meet and car corral. Cost to participate in the swap meet and car corral is $45.
   Gates open at 10 a.m. on Friday, on Saturday at 7 a.m. and on Sunday at 8 a.m. Time trials will begin at 9 a.m. both days with qualifying slated for noon on Saturday. Eliminations get under way on Sunday at 11 a.m.
   Spectator admission is $10 on Friday, $20 on Saturday, and $20 on Sunday. A two-day pass (Saturday and Sunday) can be purchased for $35. Children 12 and under will be admitted free.
