Twins take second game of doubleheader
with Pulaski

After falling 7-2 in the first game of a doubleheader
against the Pulaski Blue Jays Friday night, the Elizabethton
Twins were trying to erase a four-game losing streak in the
second outing.
Behind the solid pitching from Washington native
Evan Meek, who tossed 12 strikeouts in five complete innings,
Elizabethton put away Pulaski 9-3 at Joe O'Brien Field.
Nick Thomas started off things for Pulaski, driving
across Jayce Tingler with a big two run homer to take a 2-0
lead.
Elizabethton bouced back with six runs in the
second and third innings, thanks to a J.R. Taylor two-run
triple and a Kyle Phillips three-run homer.
Ron Perodin led Elizabethton with two hits and
two RBIs, while Ryan Spataro and Felix Molina contributed
RBI singles to the Twins' cause.
Yuber Rodriguez had an RBI single for the Blue
Jays in the seventh inning of the game.

Elizabethton got rolling on a two-run Dusty Goman
homer, but Pulaski was simply too much in the middle innings,
taking a 7-2 victory in the opening game Friday night.
Brad Mumma took the victory on the mound for
the Blue Jays after six complete innings of work.
He was backed by solid itting from Jermy Acey,
Jayce Tingler and Robinson Diaz who all bat around two hits
a piece for Pulaski. Luke Hetherington, Nick Thomas and Yuber
Rodriguez all had a hit for the Blue Jays, while Ron Perodin
and J.R. Taylor added hits for the Twins.
Elizabethton made three errors in the opening
contest before 1,352 people.
