Peters hurls no-hitter as 'Betsy All-Star rip Washington County

   Elizabethton 13-year-old All-Stars advanced to the semifinals in the regional tournament as Jeff Peters pitched a no-hit shutout against Washington County on Thursday night.
   The game was called after four innings of play with the Elizabethon All-Stars winning 17-0.
   Peters struck out eight batters in the four innings and scored four runs on two hits at the plate.
   Elizabethton tallied four in the first, two in the second and 11 in the fourth for the win.
   The 'Betsy All-Stars walked seven times and collected nine hits.
   Blake Hopson grabbed the first two RBIs in the first as Peters and Cody Marley scored on Hopson's hit. J.D. Scalf would walk as both runners stole bases and scored on passed balls.
   For Elizabethton, Peters went 2-for-2 while Jake Peters and Brandon Cole both batted 2-for-3, each scoring two runs. Aaron Bradford was 1-for-1.
   In the game Peters also picked off three runners that had got on base by walks.
   On Saturday, Elizabethton defeated Johnson City American 16-9, and was playing for the championship last night.
