Cyclones beat Riverdogs, 7-1

   EAST RIDGE -- Ben McKinney, Nick Papantoniou and Jeff Peters combined for a one-hitter on Saturday, sending the Elizabethton Cyclones to a 7-1 victory over the Georgia Riverdogs at the Dizzy Dean 12-year-old World Series.
   Taking on the Georgia state champs at Camp Jordan field, the Cyclones got two innings and five strikeouts from McKinney, who started and picked up the win.
   Papantoniou pitched an inning before Peters worked three innings for the save, striking out seven batters along the way.
   Offensively, Cody Marley homered in a 1-for-2 effort, and Papantoniou went 1-for-1, doubling off the fence. Peters had a solid effort, going 2-for-4.
   Other 'Betsy contributors included Lance Reed, 1-for-1; Aaron Bradford, 1-for-2; Dustin Carden, 1-for-3; and McKinney, 1-for-3.
   At press time last night, Elizabethton was battling the Baton Rouge (La.) Sidewinders with a semifinal berth at stake.
