Marlins left weary by extra duty

After 13 innings of baseball, who could blame the Tetrick's Marlins for wanting a hearse to transport them home. They were all dead tired.
Playing a doubleheader along with completing three innings of a rain-delayed game, the young Marlin team put up a good fight, but like most young fish, got reeled in three times on the evening.

This three-inning affair was stopped at the start of the fifth inning Tuesday night due to rain.
The scrap irons jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning thanks to a single by Tyler Blevins, aided by one walk an error and two hits batsman.
The Marlins closed the gap to one to start the fifth after walks to Brandon Cole and J.D. Scalf, and a single by Justin Conway, loaded the bases.
Josh Hardin produced a sacrifice fly to plate a run before Jeremy "mad dog" Hall ripped a single to score another. C.J. Campbell was able hold the Marlins scoreless the rest of the way to pick up a save in relief of Daniel Simerly, who earn the win.
Dylan Shallcross collected two hits to lead the Reds while Simerly, Blevins, Campbell, David Caldwell and Jacque Romain added one each.
Josh Hardin paved the way for the Marlins with a 2-for-3 evening while Cole, Scalf, Conway, Jeremy Sommers, Hall and Brandon Potter chipped in with singles.

No need for an undertaker in this game as the big trucks brought out grave digger to bury the fish in five.
Jeff Wilson held Tetrick's in check by allowing only three hits in five innings of work.
Expert tallied five runs in the first inning when Wendell Loving doubled followed by a triple from Nick McNeal who came home on an error. Travis Bishop ripped a double and later scored on an error.
The big rig combined for eight runs in the fourth and fifth innings to finish off Tetrick's in five.
Loving, McNeal, Bishop and Wilson slammed two hits apiece to lead Expert while Luke Snyder and Logan Shultz collected one each.
Brandon Cole led Tetrick's batting at 2 for 2. Scalf had the only other hit in the game for the Marlins.

The undertakers found out in the third contest that this herd of Moose was on the loose, and dead meat would not be the outcome in this game. Putting up five runs in the first inning, the Bullwinkles raced past the Marlins in the nightcap.
Two singles by Larry Creed and Brooks Price sandwiched in between two walks and three errors was too much for a tired Tetrick's team to overcome in the finale.
Thomas Dearstone collected the win going four innings before Dexter Price came in and shut the door with two scoreless innings of no-hit baseball.
Creed had a monster day, going 3-for-3 while Dearstone, Jonathan Canady and Terry Campbell had two hits each. Dexter Price, Brooks Price and Dearstone swatted hits to help the cause.
J.D. Scalf, Josh Hardin and Jeremy Sommers had the only hits for the Marlins.
