Peters' Concrete turns back B&R

After defeating the defending champions in Miller's
Plumbing, Peters' Concrete added another win in its successful
season.
Peters' defeated B&R Construction by a score
of 9-5 in Carter County League Softball Thursday night.
The construction got on the board in the first,
when Brittany Streets knocked in Rachel Oliver with a fielder's
choice to give them a simply 1-0 lead.
Peters' started slowly but gradually got better
as the game went.
It all started in the second inning, Marache Hughes
walked and later took home on theft. Jessica Ledford on an
error, who singled. Jamie Icenhour knocked in Breana Osbourne.
Jeri and Justine Jones each took free passes.
Nikki Carrow came up and knocked in the Jones
to give them an easy 5-1 lead, after one and a half.
B&R's bats came alive in the third. Sophia
Merle ripped a 2-run double to send Chelsea Peters and Heather
Brown, to cut the to two.
Peters' added some runs in the third, after a
Sarah Holtsclaw and Osbourne walk, Icenhour reached on an
error to plate Holtsclaw. Jeri Jones took a free pass, then
Justine Jones hit in a fielders' choice to plate Osbourne.
Brooke Johnson's RBI single brought home Icenhour to extend
the score, 8-3 at the end of two and a half.
B&R increased its score when Peters and Denise
Odom added RBI singles, to make it 8-5.
Insurance runs came in the top of the fourth when
Ledford doubled in the gap, and later took home on a steal,
to make it a 9-5 final score.
Ledford led Peters' with two rips, while Icenhour
and Johnson each punched in a hit.
Merle, Peters, Brown had one hit each for B&R
in the loss.
Peters' handed Whitney Vines the loss, while Daranda
Byrd got the win for her crew.
NOTE: David's Trophies and Miller's Plumbing resulted
in a forfeit, due to short of players for the Trophies.
