Ramblers place third

   The Carter County Ramblers went 4-1 to place third in the 4th Annual Girls' Fast Pitch CMT/Best Western Classic at Winged Deer Park in Johnson City this weekend.
   The Ramblers opened the tournament with a 18-4 victory over the Greeneville Stars Friday Night. On Saturday, they defeated McDowell Blaze 13-4 and the Smackers by a margin of 5-1, sending both teams back to North Carolina.
   On Sunday, the Ramblers took a 4-1 loss to the eventual tournament champion, Team Extreme from Black Mountain. They then beat out the Stars again for the third-place title, 4-1.
   The Ramblers were led on the mound by Lacey Huskins with two victories. Kristen Powell and Jamie Andrews each notched in one victory.
   The team is now 24-15 and are currently ranked 13th in the state by USSA, having placed in four of the six USSA tournaments this season.
   They will next take it on the road to Morristown for the SEAA World Qualifier on June 26.
