Three games were played Saturday at Elizabethton High School with Moose, David's Trophies and Elizabethton Herb & Metal earning wins.
  Moose Yankees 7
  Citizens Bank Braves 4
Moose got a scare but survived a good effort from a group of pesky Braves. A four-run second inning prevented the Bravos from mounting any type of comeback.
Doubles by Thomas Dearstone, Brooks Price and Terry Campbell knocked in runs, and Dalton Williams added an RBI single. The Braves got solo runs in the first, third fourth and fifth frames but left men stranded at third base in three different innings.
Jeff Peters picked up the win for Moose while Justin Covington took the loss. Williams, 2-for-2; Brooks Price 2-for-3; and Brandon Whitehead, 1-for-1, led the Bullwinkles offensively while Brandon Whitehead, Dearstone, and Campbell added hits.
Justin Covington, Thomas Thorton and Jonathan Nichols had the only hits for the Braves.
  David's Trophies Giants 15
  Tetrick's Marlins 1
It was 90 degrees outside but the bats of the plaque attack used six hits and several walks to make things miserable for the big fish. David's exploded for 12 runs in the third inning to break open a tight contest.
Aaron Bradford and Cody Marley had 2-for-2 performances to lead the Giants while Mike Carpenter, Scott Burleson and Sam Adams added one hit each.
Josh Hardin and J.D. Scalf had the only hits for Tetrick's. Carpenter earned the win while Brandon Potter took the loss.
Elizabethton Herb & Metal Reds 17
  Elks Cubs 2
The Reds were red hot in the final contest, scoring 17 runs and cruising to the easy win. The recyclemen racked up 11 runs in the second inning thanks to five walks, three errors and five base hits.
Simerly smacked a double for two RBIs, and Blevins added another two RBI single. Nick Payne whacked a bases-loaded triple in the third inning and produced a single good for two RBIs in the second.
Payne proved to be a major pain in the side of the Cubs, going 3-for-3 with seven RBIs to pace the Reds.
Simerly ripped two double to help the cause while Tyler Blevins at 1-for-1, Josh Holly and Brandon Birchfield added hits for the Reds.
Josh Sorah, Brandon Grindstaff and Jordan Meredith had the only hits for the Cubs. Seth Hambrick chipped in with a walk and run scored.
Play resumes this afternoon, with games scheduled for 1:30 and 3:30.
