KFC slips past E-Lumber; TNC bangs out 17 hits

   Mustering up a four-run rally in the bottom of the fifth and final inning, Kentucky Fried Chicken slipped past Elizabethton Lumber by an 11-10 score in Carter County American action Thursday night at Jim Ensor Field.
   A Chris Rasnick double and Jake Range single provided the big artillery in the inning, and Range tallied the winning run.
   Dan Campbell, in addition to picking up the victory in a relief effort on the mound, banged out two doubles on the night. Range had a pair of hits, while Micah Cates, Jordan Adams and Alec Whitehead chipped in a hit apiece.
   Jacob Taylor batted a sparkling 3-for-3 with two doubles for E-Lumber, which got a hit each from Cody Guess, Anthony Cole, Jarred Whitehead, Corey Scalf and Austin Smith.

   An astounding 17-hit attack, led by a 4-for-4 showing from Justin Pierce and 3-for-4 outings by Joseph Wilson and Franky Covarrubias, propelled Lawn Care to the decisive win.
   Covarrubias, who tallied four runs, and Wilson both homered and doubled, while Pierce had a pair of doubles and a trio of runs.
   Knox Eryasa and Kelly Rains added two hits each, with Eryasa collecting a double and triple, and Rains denting a two-bagger.
   Jimmy Hitchcock and Jaynes each had a triple, with Austin Nanny belting a single.
   Logan Andrews had the lone base hit for the Cline-Holder team. Jaynes was the winning pitcher.
