Doe River Gorge Golf Challenge, hosted by Ridges, drawing near

from staff reports

The annual Doe River Gorge Golf Challenge has become one of the premier golf events in the Tri-Cities, and every dollar raised goes to directly support the effective youth outreach programs at DRG.
This year's event will again be held at The Ridges Golf and Country Club in Johnson City, on Monday, June 21, 2004. Registration at 10 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. shotgun start.
Lunch will be provided on the course, and there will be a delicious buffet awards dinner catered by the Firehouse Restaurant following the tournament.
The Ridges is a premier golf layout by nationally known course designer Arthur Hills. This beautiful par-72 course is both challenging and exciting to play.
The Doe River Gorge Golf Challenge will feature 18 holes of golf for four-person teams competing in a select-shot format. Men's, women's and mixed teams are welcome to compete in this exciting event.
Skills competition during the tournament will include prizes for the longest drive and longest putt, with special prizes for a hole-in-one.
Entry fee of $200 includes everything: Greens fee, golfer gift bag, quality golf shirt, lunch buffet awards dinner, cart rental, door prizes, drinks, and much more.
   Sponsorship opportunities are still available.
Please call Steve McAuley at (423) 725-4010 or (423) 306-4889 about ways you can help the cause.
The DRG Golf Challenge provides an opportunity to help Doe River Gorge reach more kids in the area for Christ.
Doe River Gorge is non-profit ministry, which seeks to help young people discover the adventure of knowing God. Over 3,000 students have made life-changing decisions during the past nine summers.
