With the conclusion of the 2003 regular season and after crowning a tournament champ, the Carter County American Little League has released the names of the 2003 All Stars that will be playing in three different age categories.
In the 9 & 10-year old category, Mickey Taylor will manage a team that many feels that can make some noise in the tournament to be hosted by CCALL at Jim Ensor Field. Following is the breakdown of the players that were selected to participate in the 9 & 10 year old group:
Jordan Adams, Joseph Campbell, Logan Carden, Matthew Fair, Jake Hubbard, Austin Nanney, Zach Taylor, Josh Peterson, Jordan Taylor, Dustin Vaughn, Kyle Walsh, and Alec Whitehead. Andy Naylor and Jonathan Whitehead will be helping Taylor as coaches for this group of players.
Jerry Pierce will oversee the next age group of All Stars -- the 11-year old category. The list of players selected for this team include:
Logan Andrews, Zachary Boles, Dan Campbell, Micah Cates, Jonathan Chapman, Franky Covarrubias, Knox Eryasa, Tyler Jaynes, Samuel Parlier, Justin Pierce, Brett Price, and Dakota Waters. Bill Jaynes and Keith Blevins will be adding their baseball knowledge as coaches of this age bracket.
The final age category is the 12-year old group to be managed by the manager of the regular season champ Citizens Bank -- Steve Birchfield. Assisting Birchfield will be Jeff Pearce and Mike Crumley in an attempt to lead the following 12-year olds to the district championship:
Franklin Birchfield, Michael Bowers, Adam Colbaugh, Bruce Crumley, Marcus Hill, Josh Lipford, Johnathan Nichols, Jordan Pearce, Hunter Peters, Greg Sams, Kendall Wash, and Britton Yelton.
Local fans can check the tournament brackets in the STAR as they will be published after the tournament meetings are held to determine the opponents for each group as well as the time and date of each game.
