Action is at a feverish pitch at the Elizabethton Boys and Girls Club pitching-machine field as the league has been held hostage by the overly wet summer season. Following is a breakdown of this weekend's action from Elizabethton High School's softball field.

In a game resumed from an earlier date, the Cubs raced out to a 5-2 lead and had to come from behind in the final frame as Chelsey Weddle slammed the game-winning home run to cap a four-run, come-from-behind victory for the Cubs. Kelsey Frazier and Megan Ocano added a solid offensive effort for the victors with Sarah Weddle, Emily Harris, and Camrie Warren adding solid defensive play.
Jessica Brumit, Mindy Taylor, and Courtney Potter paced the offensive attack for the Twins with Kela Cox, Kelsey McNeil, and Taylor Campbell contributing great defense in the losing effort.

** Note: The Braves and Rangers were washed out as an afternoon rain took its toll with the Braves maintaining a 5-0 lead after two complete. The game will be resumed later. Also, the Twins and Orioles were a complete wash as a later evening thunderstorm moved through the area just before the beginning of the contest.
