PIC, Moose prevail in blowout fashion

Domination was the key word on Monday night in
action from the Babe Ruth league, with the PIC Braves and
Moose Twins having their way with their opponents.
While the Braves defeated the Elks Cubs 16-1,
the Twins dusted the Tetrick Yankees by a score of 18-3.
Robert Davenport tossed a one-hitter for PIC,
collecting four strikeouts and walking just one batter in
a victorious performance.
Strong contributions were made at the plate by
PIC's Cody Mann, who went 3-for-4; Ryan Kennedy, 2-for-2;
Blake Hopson, 2-for-3; and Derek Nave, 2-for-4.
Brandon Grindstaff accounted for the lone Cubs
hit.
In the other game of the night, Jeff Peters and
Terry Campbell combined on a two-hitter, with Peters pocketing
the win.
Peters showed the way at the plate for Moose,
going 3-for-3.
Campbell provided some first-inning fireworks,
bashing a grand slam. He finished at 2-for-3, and Daniel Shankle
added a 1-for-1 effort.
Josh Cole and J.D. Scalf both batted 1-for-1
for the Yankees.

Phillips Development Red Sox 11
Cody Scalf batted 3-for-3 to back Brandon Cole's
winning effort on the mound, and the Yankees won a high-scoring
affair.
Chris Wagner and Justin Covington followed up
Scalf with 3-for-4 showings. J.D. Scalf was 1-for-1 and Justin
Conway 1-for-2.
Brandon Medina put on a good show for the Red
Sox, batting 4-for-4 with a home run. Jake Peters enjoyed
a 3-for-4 game, with Jared Oliver going 2-for-3.
Saturday
Elks Cubs 16
Phillips Development Red Sox 10
Andrew Church went 3-for-5 and Josh Sorah scored
four runs to propel the Cubs past the Red Sox.
Batting 2-for-4 apiece were Jacob Thomas, Brandon
Grindstaff and Michael Carpenter, who notched the victory
on the mound.
Sorah batted 1-for-1.
Brandon Medina and Ryan Lawhern topped Phillips
Development with 2-for-3 games -- Medina tagged a home run
-- while Matt Rasnick and Aaron Bradford both went 2-for-4.
