GM ups record to 10-0 from staff reportsCarter County General Machine continued to excel in the area of domination on Saturday, first blasting Daniel Boone #2 11-1, then ripping Blountville #2 13-2 in junior league baseball action at Hampton High. Against Daniel Boone, Tee Blevins hurled a one-hitter, struck out 14 batters and batted 3-for-3 in a top-notch showing. Cory Pearson enjoyed a big day at the dish, going 4-for-4. Josh Fair, 1-for-1, and D.J. Oliver, 1-for-2, provided complementary efforts at the plate. Collecting the one hit for Boone was Jordan Bowser, who went 1-for-2. Game two was much of the same by General Machine (10-0) as Aaron Greer and Cody Montgomery combined on a three-hitter, with Greer getting the win. Michael Carpenter was top man for Carter County, going 2-for-2. Pearson and Kelly Grindstaff added 2-for-3 efforts, followed by Aaron Greer at 1-for-2. Jeremy Blount led Blountville with a 2-for-3 outing. Adam Deville went 1-for-3. Friday's Game General Machine 22 Bluff City #2 5 Grindstaff batted 2-for-3, Pearson pitched the victory and Bluff City forked over 13 walks in a one-sided outcome. Carter County, which got a 2-for-5 contribution from Montgomery, tallied at least two runs in all five innings. Pearson, 1-for-2, and Blevins, 1-for-3, added to the victory. Brad Broyles played well for Bluff City, going 3-for-3. Andrew Vance gave a 1-for-3 showing.
