Twins get past Cash, CCB rolls

Underdog Cash Express put forth one of its best
efforts of the season Thursday night, dropping a 14-9, eight-inning
decision to the first-place Elizabethton Twins in a National
Little League contest.
Neither team scored in the sixth or seventh innings,
then the Twins pushed across six runs in the top of the eighth
to make a winner out of pitcher Lance Reed.
Cash Express tallied one run in the bottom of
the inning.
Benjamin McKinney batted 3-for-3 with four RBIs
and Roy Edwards 3-for-5 with three doubles in major performances
for the Twins.
C.J. Campbell was the main man for Cash, launching
a home run over the center field fence in a 3-for-4 showing.
Drew Chambers added a solid 2-for-4 game.

Carter County Bank simply went wild in the bottom
of the first inning, igniting an easy victory with a 14-run
outburst.
Kenny Yarberry going 3-for-3 and Justin Fuqua's
belting of a home run provided big highlights for the Bankers.
Cain McWalters, Cody Buck, Tyler Blevins, Derrick Mann and
Fuqua each batted 2-for-3, and Mann got the victory on a one-hitter.
Burgie's one hit came courtesy of Jordan Meredith,
who led off the game with a triple.
